Green Light

You may have noticed that there have been few articles published here over the last few weeks. Even though it may appear that the content well here on MatthewHooper.com has run dry, the opposite is actually true. Below are all of the projects that I have been busy with over the last few weeks. Make sure to read through to the end to learn some super exciting news.

WordPress Resources

I’ve been working hard at creating a single page resource for all of the valuable WordPress information that is available to you here. Sometimes it is tedious to dig through the archives of a site in order to find some of the hidden gems. So, to make things a little easier for you to find, I have created a WordPress 101 resource page that has some basic WordPress information. On that same page, you will also find a list of articles that have been posted here over the life of this site that relate to building your internet presence with WordPress.

WordPress Plugin

One of the best things you can do to build subscribers to your email list is add an opt-in form at the end of each of your articles. If you have read any of the articles over on Social Triggers or seen any of the videos that Derek Halpern has done lately, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

If you have a WordPress website and you don’t want to (or don’t know how to) add bits of code to your website in order to add an opt-in form to the end of your blog posts, then you should check out my WordPress plugin that takes care of all of this for you. The After Post Content Box WordPress plugin allows you to easily add anything after a blog posts that appears on a single post page. The best thing is, the plugin is free for you to go and download.

The WordPress Course

Some of the readers of this website have have expressed interest in learning how to setup of their own WordPress website from scratch. Over the last few weeks I have been keeping my head down and pushing forward on a course that is going to teach you have to how to create a WordPress site. This course will guide you through the entire process of creating your own WordPress website to use for yourself, your small business or your organization.

The WordPress Course is still being created but if you want to learn WordPress in a single weekend head on over to The WordPress Course to be notified of when the course will be available.

More Great News!

On September 14th, my wife and I will move to Canada. After more than seven years of living in Taiwan and nearly three years of marriage, it’s time to return to Canada. My wife is also no stranger to Canada and has visited there often but this will be the first time she will be living abroad.

There is no better news than what I am going to say next, so I will just say it:

WE’RE HAVING A BABY!

The next few months are going to be very exciting for myself, my wife and our new arrival but we are looking forward to it.

Congrats on the baby! And good luck with the move. I often wonder how my wife (Thai) would fair if we moved to the US, though she has expressed interest.

Thanks Ian! I’m sure that as long as your wife’s English is ok, she would be fine. We’ll be in a pretty multi-cultural area so I’m sure we’ll be fine. How’s the little guy doing?

Her English isn’t the greatest (yet) but if we did go back, would likely be San Francisco area, in which case we could live near China Town (She is half Chinese, and speaks Mandarin and Contonese). The baby is awesome. Has a bit of a cough right know which is scary when they are so tiny.

You guys should be fine in San Francisco. We’ll be just outside of Vancouver so our situation will be similar.

Good luck with the little guy.

Congrats on the baby and move to Canada, Matt! Hope the move goes well.  Is your wife all set with her visa?  If I remember, she automatically gets Canadian citizenship because you’re Canadian, right?

    Thanks a lot Kevin!

Citizen is almost automatic, there is some paper work involved and we still need to finalize everything. Other than that, everything is looking good.
