Five for Friday - 2010-07-09

Five for Friday is (going to be) a regular feature here on MatthewHooper.com. Five for Friday features five pieces of content that I have come across on the web throughout the week. It is most likely posts from other blogs that I have found insightful or meaningful. It may also be a quick video or a piece of audio, such as a podcast, that has intrigued me.

  1. How to Make Money No Object (With Very Little)
  2. This is a good post about how to do more with less. Too often a lot of us are scared to make changes because we worry that it will disrupt our lives a little too much.

  3. The Simple SEO Strategy You Can Build an Empire Around (Part 2)
  4. Anyone that has tried to drive traffic to a site will want to know about how to do Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This post and part 1 explain SEO in simple terms.

  5. My Monthly Report – June 2010
  6. Pat (the “my” in the title) at Smart Passive Income lists out his monthly earnings each month. These are very inspiring posts since he is very forthcoming about what he does to create his living.

  7. Claiming Your Independence – 5 Years of Business Lessons
  8. I always enjoy reading articles by people that are successful at the things that I aspire to be successful at. This is one of those types of posts.

  9. How to Take 3 Years Off to See the World — with Betsy and Warren Talbot
  10. This interview is really mativating for everybody that has ever wanted to dodge the rat race. It was also a nice introduction to Betsy and Warren Talbot of www.marriedwithluggage.com.

Hey Matt,

Great post, as usual :D

Realized that I had unknowingly been reading through your linked articles for over 30 minutes! Great stuff, especially the blog on minimalist living. This value system really goes against our Western consumerism, but is actually very refreshing, once we get over our subconscious fear of having to do without loads of stuff. -> Which reminds me of a great short video I recently stumbled across called “The Story of Bottled Water”. It's the latest installment in eco-awareness videos by Annie Leonard, and can be found at: http://storyofstuff.org.

Cheers,
- E

I'm glad that you enjoyed the post!

“The Story of Bottled Water” (direct link: http://storyofstuff.org/bottledwater/) was very interesting. I have read a lot about bottled water in the past and I have heard similar things.
